Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan’s classic Zanjeer’s remake has been well in news since quite some time. A lot of stuff has been penned on it and is being done presently. There were reports that the original writers of the film stepped in between to stop the working on remake but it seems all is settled between the makers and the screenwriters of the original movie. The reports reveal that the screenwriters have agreed now. What deal has been struck between the writers and the makers has not been revealed in the media. It is obvious that the remake of Zanjeer is becoming bigger and bigger with every passing time.Initially it was announced that the dusky-vivacious beauty of Bollywood Priyanka Chopra will be playing the main lead opposite south actor Ram Charan Teja but she denied the reports. Now the sources claim that she is going to play the main lead and the spokesperson of the actress too has confirmed the same.
Sexy siren Mahi Gill too has been roped in to play the role of Mona Darling. Arjun Rampal too joins in the starcast. The sources claim that Priyanka has signed the film with the bigger amount ever paid to a Bollywood actress so far. She has reportedly bagged INR 9 crore for this film.
This has made Chopra the highest paid Bollywood actress of today’s time. She has left the top notch Bollywood actresses, who enjoy the number one position together at the list of Top 10 – Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif behind. Both charge INR 3-4 crores per film. But recently it was revealed that Kareena bagged INR 6 crores for doing Heroine (some say that she charged INR 8 crores for Heroine). Whatever Kareena Kapoor charged for Heroine – whether it is INR 6 crores or INR 8 crores, Priyanka has left her behind.
