Bumboo Movie Review

BUMBOO in Mumbaiya lingo is what happens when you get on the wrong side of the law. This is explicitly explained by the voice over (Sanjay Mishra) as the movie begins. When it ends, you know where the Bumboo lands!

CHECK OUT: BUMBOO director Jagdish Purohit - Stars are a recipe for disaster

The credit for the story and writing goes to Francis Veber. One glance on the internet and this French gentleman's name throws up an impressive, detailed list as producer, screenwriter and director. So how did he get bumbooed with this script? A question one will never get an answer to.

So now let's get to the story. Let me warn you, there's no logic, no dialogues, no script and at times when the cast do not know what to do, they just do what they want to do. There's just screaming. Lots of it. There are also farts, puke, burps and even gay positions, all very repulsive.

The story begins in Mumbai's BDD Chawl. A scamster is arrested from his home (toilet) for forgery to the tune of Rs 200 crore. As he is being taken away, he threatens to expose the bigger names behind the scam. He is now being taken to Goa for a trial (I don't know why). The bigger names behind the scam decide to hire a sharp-shooter to bump him off. One newspaper editor gets a whiff of the 'bump-off' deal and he sends a journalist and a photographer to cover the killing.

CHECK OUT: Love brewing between Kavin and Mandy?

For most part after that it is the sharp-shooter (Sharat Saxena) and the photographer (Kavin Dave) who Bumboo you. If that is not enough there's a psychiatrist thrown in along with the photographer's wife (Mandy Takhar). To be fair, it is only Mandy who though made to act without a script impresses with her bit.

If you are willing to get Bumbooed, do walk right in!
