Hate Story 2012 pics...

Hate Story Box Office Collections – Reports and Earnings

The Bhatt Camp’s name has for quite some time now been synonymous with creating steamy films. Hate Story, the latest venture of the Bhatt’s share a same story. Creating quite a stir with its bold posters and promos tha movie finally hit the theaters today. Thanks to its content it is sure to attract quite some people to both multiplexes and theaters. The story of a lady on the vengeance route, Hate Story brings to light Paoli Dam in a bold role.
Compared to the other movie released this Friday, i.e. Vicky Donor, Hate Story is expected to do way better. You might remember the last time two talked about movies released on the same Friday, i.e.,Jodi Breakers and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. Both the movies ate up on the business of each other but Tere Naal Love HO Gaya ultimately emerged as the winner. It seems Hate Story is going to emerge the winner this time except for Northern India where the local connect will help Vicky Donor do a bit better.
We predict a 8-9 crores nett 1st week box office collections. The first week is likely to make a total of 12-13 crores. Overall the lifetime collections should be in the range of 18-19 crores.
Do read our Movie Review to gain a critics view on the movie.

Producer: Vikram Bhatt
Rating: ★★★☆☆
Vikram Bhatt’s Hate Story, an erotic thriller, has been well in news from the outset. Since the day, its first poster was out in the media for the masses, the movie started churning out bigger buzz and then at last the makers got the benefit they want from it – heavy promotion. It was a sure-shot publicity gimmick played by the makers of the movie and it worked out vastly because the poster carried the steamy stuff which always allures the souls and grabs the attention. A curvaceously-sexy girl’s naked back with tattoo on it was enough to raise the mammoth publicity and it happened in higher dose more than the expectations of the film’s producer and director.
Rest of the marketing work was done by the controversies the movie generated before the release. Paoli Dam’s sexuality used widely in promos and the explicit language thrown in the movie brought higher controversial package for the flick. And ultimately this all added the benefit to the movie.
Hate Story is not novel at all – let me clear it in the very beginning. The film carries the age-old formula of vengeance, we have grown up watching it on screen.  A number of times the films like this we have viewed on celluloid in past where the leading lady takes advantage of her sexuality to settles scores with the evil-doers.  In 80s era, in particular, this concept was much in use and it worked big time since it was appealing at that point of time. Although the revenge movies still go well with today’s audiences provided that they are well-made and Vikram Bhatt’s Hate Story too appeals the audiences but lacks some oomph in scripting and novelty. Much use of the leading gal’s sexuality does appear juicy for the audiences. A good tool it is to make the viewer’s attention alive with the film. After all sexuality is what masses get attracted a lot to.
Vikram Bhatt has written the story and the screenplay of the film. Plotting is not novel but interesting as far as the viewer’s attention is concerned. Screenplay carries weight but as mentioned earlier lacks liveliness at various points of the film.
Hate Story talks about Kaavya (Paoli Dam) who takes routes in life from being a simple middle class journalist to a sex worker for taking revenge from the wrong-doers. She makes well use of her sexuality as a deadly weapon to rupture Siddharth (Gulshan Devaiah) by making using of all and sundry associated with him. Getting laced with utmost hatred and atrocious revenge, Kaavya is on her way to settle scores with her wrong-doers. But her vengeance affects her family and Vicky (Nikhil Dwivedi), her best pal who loves her dearly but secretly.
The movies with bolder subjects always grab the attention of the moviegoers and they certainly land into bigger publicity but what finally makes them run at the box office is the content. The bold theme of Hate Story will surely bring the audiences into the theaters initially but its future business depends on it content. Admit, the content wise, the movie is not bad rather carries good stuff to capture the cinegoers but my point is that Vikram Bhatt must have added some extra flavors of novelty into the narrative to make it more interesting for today’s moviegoer.
Screenplay is gripping but features fewer mistakes like the protagonist very easily makes the arrangements to reach at her targets. Ok, she uses her sexuality to get at the targets – yes, a woman can do this with much ease but the execution of her plotting cannot be swallowed. The use of colossal contaminated language should have been lessened.
Vivek Agnihotri has directed the flick with style and he has put everything to make it today’s stylish erotic thriller. He makes the viewers fixed their eyes on screen till the climax – distinction marks to this man for his brilliant efforts. Dialogues deserve special mention, they are simply heart-warming and breathtaking. Editing is first rate. Cinematography by Attar Singh is eye-candy. Harshit Saxena’s music is average.
Paoli Dam makes a superb debut in Hindi cinema. She has previously showed her class in Bengali movies and now she has flaunted it off in Bollywood with Hate Story. Gulshan Devaiah impresses with his act. Nikhil Dwivedi is impressive. Joy Sengupta is brilliant. Mohan Kapur shows his class. Bhairavi Goswami attracts in her cameo. Rest of the cast is good to watch.
Final Verdict by the Critic:
Hate Story, though is not novel as far as the story is concerned, is interesting for the viewers for its subject of revenge. The sexuality of the leading lady also adds super spices to the liking of the viewers.

Movie Details:
To Be Released OnApril 20th, 2012
A film that has created waves all over the nation for its steamy content, Hate Story is India’s first official erotic thriller, claims director Vivek Agnihotri. When you talk about erotica so openly in India, be rest assured that most of the bold scenes are to be scissored and chopped off from it, courtesy the Censor Board! It has created a deafening buzz and grabbed eyeballs off late owing to its unabashedly explicit content.
The trailer that was released on the 18th of March sent the entire country into a tizzy as it provided them something which left them absolutely dumb-founded. It is essentially a vengeance story of a woman who uses her body to inflict pain and misery on those who once maligned her character. Paoli Dam, the sexy siren from the Bengali film industry was always in news for her arrant and brassy outlook to life plays Kavya Krishna in the film, a middle class journalist who is betrayed in love and is a victim of forced abortion; an incident that changes her to turn into a whore and ruin the life of the person who killed her body from within. Then what she envisages is an unknown voyage on her road to revenge. Her vengeance propels her to commit everything which is restricted!
Paoli Dam, the leading lady of this film is known for having no inhibitions on screen, and it was not anything new for the Bengalis to adapt to as Paoli had already done an entire nude sequence for her previous Bengali film ‘Chhatrak’.  Initially, the poster forced all and sundry to re think who the dusky beauty is, but it was just a week that official announcements were made and Paoli attained super stardom. The shaitan in the film is played by the shaitan of ‘Shaitan’ yet again: Gulshan Devaiya plays the role of Siddharth Dhanrajgir, Paoli’s boss, the man she falls in love with and the reason for her character being charred. Nikhil Dwivedi, the almost forgotten hero of tinsel town returns as Vicky, the lovelorn friend of Kavya who sticks to her in her good and her bad times, but lacks the guts to convey his innate feelings to her. The film, referred to the Indianised version of ‘Basic Instinct’ has given a different dimension to unchaste dauntlessness, thereby taking everyone by surprise. But what surprised everyone was the decision of High Court of banning the Hate Story posters featuring Paoli in sensual positions calling them ‘revealing and too bold for the Indian audience’. A film which circles around the power of a woman, a woman who is dangerously sexy and revengeful is already in news and is aiming for an earth shattering opening at the box office this weekend.
In a male chauvinist patriarchal society where Men are known to dominate over Women, here comes a definitive yet calculated move from Vikram Bhatt. The women centric roles and feminist films have done wonders to the actresses as well as the producers. Will Paoli also be able to pull out another Dirty Picture with Hate Story? Can she outdo a certain Vidya Balan? Will this confident, commanding and immensely powerful woman who knows the essence of her sexuality oh-so-well be accepted by the Indian audience? That remains to be answered.
But one thing is for sure. As the trailer goes: In a world without Laws, there is nothing more dangerous than a woman who has nothing to lose! True that!

Housefull 2 Box Office Collections – Reports and Earnings

Earnings of Housefull 2 as of 8th April 2012 is 63 crores.
One of the most awaited films of 2012, Housefull 2 hits the theaters today. Makers of the sequel to Houseful 1 are quite confident that the movie will do exceptionally better than its previous part. Packed with star figures, foot tapping numbers, and the uncanny humor, the movie is sure to bring houses down. With the huge promotional activity that the production team did it is only natural that the movie will show a good opening at the Indian box office.
Another factor which might actually work for the film is the fact that none of the movies post the release of Kahaani did any good at the box office. From the looks of it a lifetime collection of about 100 crores is a certainty. Thanks to the popularity of the name of the franchise and the star cast the opening week collection should be nothing less than a good 40 crores. Opening day collection of over 15 crores is expected as of now.
The movie released in about 2700 screens which is not just a huge figure but perhaps one of the largest releases ever. It only has movies like Ra.One and Bodyguard to compete with it on the number of screens it released on.
Housefull 2 had a pretty good opening at multiplexes all over the country. It collected about 70-75% on an average in India. There were cities in the North India where the movie even opened at about 100% occupancy. Cities like Gujrat, Punjab and Rajasthan showed over 80% occupation rates whereas Maharastra and other South Cities showed about 50-60% occupancy. One can thus conclude that the movie had a pretty nice opening all over the country.
The movie has even showed a decent promise at the overseas box office too. It seems the movie is going to have a huge weekend. This comes as a relief to the Indian film industry which had not been seeing any good earners for a long time now.
So the official figures are finally out and the movie did make a good 13.95 crores on day one. Day two’s early estimate as of now is 14 crores. We predict Sunday to earn about 18 crores. The total domestic collection of the movie is thus expected to be around 45-46 crores. Since the movie also did well at the overseas box office around 12 crores is expected from the same. The total world wide collection for the movie’s first weekend should be around 66-67 crores.
Updates:
After a 14 crore collection on day one, the movie went dropped to a 13 crores on Saturday. The movie had the 2nd best opening day collection of 2012 after Agneepath which did an opening day business of 25 crores. Sunday gave a huge boost to the movie’s box office collection with 15 crores. The total domestic collection of the movie as of now stands at  42 crores. Another 5.50 crores were collected at the international box office taking the grand weekend total of the movie to 47.50 crores. With no competition the movie is only expected to do decently during the weekdays.
So the week is finally done and it seems Housefull 2 has done pretty well for itself in the first week itself. The movie grossed a net total of about 63 crores which is a pretty big figure seen after quite some time at the Bollywood box office. The release of small flicks this week will have no effect on the collections of Housefull 2 and it seems to movie will maintain its steady pace in the 2nd week too. IPL definitely took a bit of a toll on this movies box office collection.

Zareen Khan speaks to BollyGraph!

A small town girl who was high on her ambitions was spotted by the Dabanng Salman Khan outside Whistling Woods Acting Academy in Mumbai. From there, her life took a completely different turn. Sweet, frank, and grounded are the first three things that you notice about this 24 year old actress. Besides, she is always like a house on fire. She had one of the grandest dream debuts with the box office scorcher of the tinsel town with Veer. But destiny had other choices; the film was a box office disaster and she was panned by both the critics and the Media. Controversies started pouring in from all corners regarding her looks, appearance and even her nationality which shattered the newcomer into two pieces. But then with Character Dheela re breathing back life into her, there were no looking back. Her latest release ‘Housefull 2’ has become the talk of the town and is expected to join the 100 crore film brigade.
Post the release of the film and amidst all the applauses and acknowledgements, Zareen Khan takes out time to speak to us and this time, she is one happy woman. We swear!
With this interview, she tries to set all the records straight as she is looking forward to a bigger and better future in the industry post this film.
Over to the hottest Housefull 2 heroine:
You are being applauded for your role in Housefull 2 and grabbing a lot more eyeballs. How are you reacting to it?
The fact that everybody is appreciating me is helping me work harder for an even better future. I just don’t want to be carried away but do all more stuffs so that I eventually establish myself too as one of the best heroines of the industry. Plus, moreover, whenever I have made an appearance on the big screen, people’s reactions have always been so very different. Veer gave me a lot of criticisms and people started writing me off. But then Character Dheela gave me a lot of appreciation and with Housefull 2 things have gone even one more level, one more notch higher, People have voted me as the hottest heroine of Housefull 2. So it is all so good now!
Being voted as the hottest heroine of the film, you must have been elated to the core.
From a girl who was called and tagged as a look alike to Katrina Kaif, being called the hottest heroine was definitely a huge leap. And what excites me more is that this time; it was the people who have voted for me. So in one way, the audience has also started liking me. So yes, I feel so good now!
Veer, as you said did not quite help you much as an actress, were you disappointed that the film did not work?
It was my first film and I obviously expected it to do well. It had the biggest names in the industry, such a big director, so obviously when it didn’t work, we, as an entire team were affected. But yes it affected me a lot more. The Media and the critics started targeting me and went on to write rubbish about me. I don’t know why Media had that kind of a grudge with me then. I was just a girl, who was aiming to take the first stepping stone in the industry and I had no starry background or any godfather. So writing me off so quickly was a possibility, but I never knew that could happen so soon.
You were also criticized on your looks and regarded as a Katrina Kaif look alike. Some people started calling you ‘Fat Kat’. What was the effect of that entire episode on your Life?
Honestly, I don’t know why people started saying stuffs about me. Katrina is a very talented actress. Had it been comparisons with her, I would not have minded it so much. But when things got nasty with people disrespecting me everywhere, I felt so humiliated. The newspapers, magazines, channels, every day would churn out something or the other about me, most of which were baseless and completely untrue. So as a newcomer, it obviously took its toll on me. And coming to the Fat Kat instance, I feel the industry is a little biased here. They somehow appreciate other A listed actresses when they gain weight and put on 10 kilos, 12 kilos to look perfect for their role. But when it comes to the debutantes, they kind of bog them down with discouraging quotes and remarks. I was a newcomer who knew nothing about Bollywood. I just did what I was asked to. If I put on weight for my first role, what was the problem in everyone accepting me too the way they have accepted many others today.
But with Housefull 2, everything has gone for a toss most certainly.
(Interrupting me, she continues) And not only that, they have also remarked that I am 27-28 (like Katrine Kaif) whereas I am just 24 and will be turning 25 this May. Plus people kept on spreading rumours saying I am from Canada, Pakistan and what not. But through this interview I want to clear off all the records. I want to convey that I am very much an Indian, who knows how to speak English, Hindi and Marathi. (She laughs). (Coming back to the question, she replies)  Hopefully Housefull 2 will change people’s perspective about me and would give me a better way to connect to my people.
When the entire industry awaits news of cat fights when there is a list of actresses working together, this time we were all shocked. The other female lead in the film, Asin, even called you co-sympathizers. Seems that the girls this time bonded really well!
Obviously, with all the girls my equations were fabulous. Rather the entire team bonded so well. And I am out an out a tomboy. So I was like the protective one among all the four of us. I was the one who used to fight for all the girls against all the boys. I have always been quite boyish and was never like, “Oh, I have to be this girly. I have to let them pick on me and all.” If they used to pick on me or any of the other girls, I was like one jhansi ki rani fighting for them and giving it back to them. Our boys are very mischievous and naughty. They keep on playing pranks on the girls. Most of the time, they used to play pranks on Shazahn and she, being a very close friend now had me supporting her right away! Maybe that was the reason we bonded so well.
How was it working with the funny man Sajid?
Well, Sajid was oh my God Hilarious while the entire shoot of the film. He is so fun to be around that at times, he would crack jokes so often that we forgot our own lines. He also got angry a couple of times but he is my favourite director now. We had loads of fun together.
Before we round it up with the newest diva in the tinsel town, we roped her in for a short Rapid Fire on ‘her Life, her Desires and her Regrets’
Rapid Fire with Zareen Khan:
Your strength lies in: My mom
Your weakness lies in: My pet
A director that you are craving to work with: A lot of them actually. I desire to work with Raju Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the list is really long. I wanted to work with Sajid Khan. That has come true but I want to work with him again.
You are comfortable in:Being myself! I just cannot be fake.
You go bananas over: The only thing I can go crazy for are Chocolates!
Words that best describe you: Crazy, naughty and bitchy (Laughs out loud). People might feel that I am very sweet and all, which I really am but but when people start talking bad about me, I get really bitchy too.
One question you would want people to ask you:There a lot of misconceptions that people have about me. From now on, I believe I would really request them to ask me whatever they want to directly. I am on Twitter and they should feel free to ask me directly rather than believing the Wikipedia and other sites that we have or some journalists who are not true to their job!
Finally what are your upcoming projects that are keeping you busy for the next half of the year?
I am doing a Telegu movie with Vikram which is still left to be completed. I have completed half of it and would be flying to Delhi soon to complete the shoot for the film. Then I have Partner 2 with Salman yet again (Smiles). I had been offered the film right after Veer released but the movie still does not have a good script. So as and how the script gets finalized, we will talk about it!
